Backboard Provides Permanent Tennis Partner

For lifelong tennis players, there comes an inevitable time when playing just isn’t the same as it used to be. “Once you get to be this old, people are afraid to play with you because they don’t want to hurt you,” explained Ruth Schillereff, a young-at-heart, 89-year-old player. USTA New England is a non-profit organization with the mission “To Promote and Develop the Growth of Tennis”. Our membership now boasts more than 34,500 individual members and more than 500 organizational members. When you become a USTA New England member, your member dollars are helping to promote tennis at the local level. Each year grants are awarded to assist organizations in initiating or expanding tennis programming. These grants are used to develop and grow instructional programs and/or organized league play for people of all ages, abilities and populations and for the purchase of needed tennis equipment.
