100-Year Old Tennis Facilities in New England
Each year, the USTA recognizes tennis facilities that are celebrating a centennial anniversary. Each club so recognized receives a commemorative plaque and is listed in the USTA yearbook. New England is home to ten such facilities:
1877 - Longwood Cricket Club, Chestnut Hill, Mass.
1880 - The Newport Casino/ITHF, Newport, Rhode Island
1886 - The Dorset Field Club, Dorset, Vermont
1887 - Quincy Tennis Club, Quincy, Mass.
1888 - Mattapoisett Casino, Mattapoisett, Mass.
1889 - Kennebunk River Club, Kennebunk, Maine
Nahant Country Club, Nahant, Mass.
1890 - The Neighborhood Club, West Newton, Mass.
1891 - The New Haven Lawn Club, New Haven, Conn.
1898 - Mountain View Country Club - Greensboro, Vermont
