Background Screening for Jr. Team Tennis Coaches

USTA New England will implement a mandatory background screening for all USTA New England Jr. Team Tennis coaches who will have interaction with players at any time during the USTA New England Jr. Team Tennis program. The safety of children involved in any and all USTA New England events is paramount to the organization. To that end, this policy will be in effect immediately. Coaches involved in a USTA New England Jr. Team Tennis league that is presently in session are required to complete the background screening by Dec. 1, 2008. Those who are participating in leagues that have yet to begin will need to complete the background screening before the season commences. For more information on the process and detailed instructions, click here .

Celebrate Tennis Month

USTA Jr. Team Tennis in New England:

Kids, parents and coaches are invited to get in on the fun of USTA Jr. Team Tennis in New England!

USTA Jr. Team Tennis is the largest youth tennis program in the country, helping girls and boys ages 6 to 18 get in the game, get on the court, and have a good time. Teams are coed and made up of at least six players, three boys and three girls, based on similar ages and skill levels. The emphasis is on skill development, fun, teamwork and friendly competition, all with the possibility of advancing to the national championship.

Parents are needed around New England to organize teams and coordinate leagues. This is a great opportunity for kids to join their friends on teams where they can play tennis, be part of a team and have fun.

Every state in New England offers Jr. Team Tennis. For more information about the Jr. Team Tennis opportunities available in your area, please contact your local Community Relations Manager .
