Dream Come True For National Champs

It’s been nothing but "happy days" for Cynthia Borghesani and the Manchester Red.

That’s because on the weekend of Oct. 30-Nov. 1, the Manchester squad won the USTA League 3.0 Senior Women’s National Championship at the Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson.

TUCSON – The women’s team from Manchester, Mass., representing the USTA New England section, captured the national title at the USTA League 3.0 Senior National Championships, held at the Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1.

Maine Senior Women's Team Fourth In Nation

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. - The women’s team from Falmouth, Maine, representing the USTA New England, finished fourth at the USTA League 3.5 Senior National Championships held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, CA from Oct. 23 to Oct. 25.

They loaded up on water, energy drinks, bananas and oranges - anything to stay hydrated in the Arizona heat. Despite temperatures in the upper 90s for much of the tournament, the Weymouth, Mass. women’s tennis team made it to an exciting Final Four at the Women’s 3.5 National Championships in Tucson, Ariz.

After facing intense competition at home, the men’s tennis team from Wilton, Conn. held its own against 96 degree heat and perennial contenders from Florida, Texas, and the Caribbean at the Men’s 3.5 League National Championships in Tucson.
