USTA
New England
is a non-profit organization with the mission "To Promote and Develop the Growth of Tennis". Our membership now boasts more than 35,000 individual members and more than 480 organizational members.
When you become a USTA
New England
member or renew your membership, your member dollars are helping to promote tennis at the local level. Each year we award grants to assist organizations in initiating or expanding tennis programming. These grants are used to develop and grow instructional programs and/or organized league play for people of all ages, abilities and populations as well as in the form of tennis equipment.
Last year alone, almost $148,000 in grant money was awarded to Community Tennis Associations, volunteer-based not-for-profit organizations that support or provide programs that promote and develop the growth of tennis, and National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTLs), similar to Community Tennis Associations but with an added educational aspect, to help grow programs such as USTA Jr. Team Tennis, 10 and Under Tennis, School Tennis, and Tennis on Campus.
As an organization, we are dedicated to supporting Diversity and Inclusion throughout
New England
. To that end, in 2011, almost one-third of our grants were made available to expand Wheelchair and Adaptive Tennis and multicultural participation.
Next time you renew your membership or encourage a friend to join the USTA, you can feel good in knowing that you helped grow tennis in your backyard.
