Tennis in the Parks
Tennis In the Parks is a partnership between NRPA and the USTA that provides resources and support to communities that are committed to growing and improving tennis programs, infrastructure and advocacy efforts. Park and recreation agencies, schools and municipalities are eligible to participate in this free initiative.

USTA Public Facility Funding Grant
The USTA's Public Facility Grants fall under the Tennis in the Parks program, we (USTA and NRPA) ask communities to assess (or reassess for those with prior participation) tennis in their community. This is an on-line assessment and asks participants to give priorities based on choices given on what is important to that community. Based on the responses given, each community is serviced with items specific to that communities needs.All communities with a complete on-line assessment can request a facility funding application. Discounted Equipment: Schools who become organizational members receive discounts on tennis equipment including racquets, balls and nets.
USTA-offered Insurance: The USTA has a low cost Master Liability and Accident insurance plan as well as Directors and Officers insurance. (Upon completion of CTA Registration, USTA Membership and non-profit status.). $165 per year for budgets under $25K and $465 per year for budgets over $25K.
Grants & Scholarships:
Organizational members have exclusive access to National grants such as, USTA Community Funding Grants and preferential access to USTA Tennis & Education Foundation Scholarships. USTA Community Tennis grants are available through the section to all Organizational members. The grant money given out each year helps to grow the game of tennis in New England in many ways. In-Services:
Schools who are members have the opportunity to attend in-services which are designed to teach physical education teachers how to teach tennis in whatever space they have available to them. Schools who commit to teaching tennis will receive the updated USTA School Tennis Curriculum Guide, and will have access to equipment discounts and be eligible for Community Tennis Grants. Schools who commit to teaching tennis & offer an after-school program will receive the USTA School Tennis Curriculum Guide, be eligible for free equipment, and Community Tennis Grants. National Park & Recreation Tournaments:
The National Public Parks Tennis Association (NPPTA) is announcing the launch of their new Web site, www.nppta.com. The goal of the Web site is to promote public park tennis tournaments, provide an entry system to the National Public Parks Tennis Championships (NPPTC) being held in New Orleans, LA, July 21-29, 2008 and to create a history of tennis in the public parks. Please click on the tab labeled "Locations" to see all of the State Championship sites that Active Network established for this year. Tennis Directors in park and recreation agencies can also visit the site to register their facility to host a public parks tennis tournament in their local area.
