Nine-time Grand Slam Singles Champion and former World No. 1 Monica Seles heads the 2009 ballot nominations. Joining her on the ballot in the Master Player category is Andres Gimeno. He was one of Spain’s most prominent tennis players of the 1960s, and who remains Roland Garros’ oldest singles champion, winning the coveted clay court title in 1972.

NEWMARKET, N.H.-- The Great Bay Athletic Club (“Great Bay”), a multi-generational health and fitness facility, announced the addition of new adult and junior indoor tennis programs to its fall class schedule. NORTH HAVEN, Conn. - Identical twin brothers and USPTA certified tennis teaching professionals, Angelo A. and Ettore Rossetti broke the Guinness World Record™ for the longest tennis rally and finished early Sunday morning, August 10 at North Haven Health & Racquet. Last August 18-19, the brothers had set the U.S. record of 19,490 successful rallies over the span of two days. The rally was part of USPTA's Tennis Across America which included Cardio Tennis, team clinics, private lessons, fast serve contest and open court time. In addition, it was recognized as an official Lessons for Life fund raiser. These activities are part of USPTA's Tennis for the Health of it, it's theme for 2008. Orono, Maine - The University of Maine Bridge Family Tennis Courts will hold a Grand Opening from 3-5 p.m. Friday, May 30, at their new location next to the Student Recreation Center. John Bridge ’57, ‘63G, retired president of Bridgecorp, and his brother, Dave, helped establish the original tennis courts in the early 1990s to honor their father, Chester, who introduced his four sons to the game. Former USTA New England junior star Todd Paul is still up to big things after wrapping up a dominating college career at Wake Forest University and Priyanka Sundhar may be on her way to becoming the next huge star to pass through the Junior ranks. Paul, a Stamford, Conn. native, is one of eight collegiate players representing the United States in the Pan American Games in Brazil. The Pan Am games are the world's second-largest multi-sport international competition.
