USTA New England 2012 USTA League Section Regulations: reference 7.1, 7.1.1, 6

Wild Card Selection Procedures for 2012 USTA League Adult District Championships: A player must play a minimum of 2 matches (1 default may count) during the local league season as a rated player in order to qualify for championship play. In order to advance to National Championships a player must play a minimum of 3 matches with no defaults.  Each local league shall qualify its winning team and runner-up (the wild card) for further play based on the following criteria. All teams must comply with the Player Intent Rules where applicable.

1. A local league with flights of two, three or four teams shall send the winning team to the Adult District Championship.

2. A local league with flights of five or more teams shall send both the winner and the runner-up to the Adult District Championship.

Adult District Championship Invitations: When a team has qualified for its Adult District Championship, the team captain must confirm their participation with the respective Local League Coordinator and accept the invitation by email within 5 days following the end of local league season or within 24 hours following the end of a summer local league season.  Any team qualifying during a make-up period must accept their invitation immediately following their last match.  Communications will then be sent from the Section Office to the advancing teams to ensure accurate contact information.  Each advancing team will be required to send a $100 deposit by a stated deadline to secure their team spot in the Adult District Championships. The deposit will later be applied to the team fee. The team will lose their $100 (team commitment) deposit if they withdraw from the tournament after July 1st.  All other 2012 USTA New England USTA League Regulations and 2012 USTA League Championship Rules apply.

Exception: The BLUE District is comprised of teams from Eastern MA and Cape Cod and is the largest district.  The wild card selection described above will be customized to serve the BLUE District needs to include a maximum number of teams for specific levels to meet their objective to provide an advancement opportunity to as many teams as possible while offering a high level product and service. The number of teams that will advance per NTRP level to the BLUE District will be determined following completion of the Eastern MA and Cape Cod Team Commitment and flight breakdown deadlines (around April 15th).
