Scott Factor Memorial Fund

Sadly, this year cannot pass without also recognizing the passing of someone who personified dedication and strength, Scott Factor. Last summer Scott passed away without permission from his peers leaving a large positive scar on many lives. With his love, passion for competitiveness and perseverance he empowered many people with his unconditional regard. A fund has been set up to continue his passion to help others to succeed to grow and his Spirit will always remand in our hearts. A few of Scott’s many accomplishments included USTA NE Ambassador, USPTA Wheelchair Tennis Professional, USTA Player, Certified Ski Instructor & Mentor: Ability Plus Foundation. Michael Mercier was recently recognized with a third award for his unselfish and devoted contributions to growing wheelchair tennis from New England’s East coast all the way to the West coast. This awards follows previously being recognized as 2007 USPTA NE Wheelchair Tennis Professional of Year and 2007 USTA Brad Parks Wheelchair Tennis Professional of Year. Michael is the national wheelchair tester/educator for USPTA and you will see him occasionally throughout the year at various regional training, exhibition and special events growing and promoting tennis actively in and out of his chair. His passion is to give disabled persons, veterans, former players across the country a second chance to play the great game of tennis.
