NEWPORT, RI - At the US Professional Tennis Association New England Division Convention at the Newport Casino and International Tennis Hall of Fame, Mike Kolendo received a pair of honors.

He was named Regional Pro of the Year. There were four such awards given out this year in New England among a total of nearly 700 members.
Mike also won the Dan Bonfigli Award, which is given to an outstanding USPTA New England member who is in passionately involved in community tennis programs - particularly for juniors - and actively participates in events and educational opportunities of various tennis organizations.
The award was created in memory of the late Dan Bonfigli, the ever-popular teaching professional in Vermont who exemplified those qualities.
Mike Kolendo is a member of the USTA New England Board of Directors.
