WESTBOROUGH, MA - USTA New England is pleased to announce that two young tennis players from the section have been chosen to attend the National Junior Tennis and Learning Tennis Leadership Camp.
Sehvrine Lezeau, a 14-year-old from Norwalk, CT, has participated in Norwalk Grassroots Tennis for 5 years. Sehvrine serves as a role model in the Norwalk Grassroots program as a junior team coach and also plays on her high school tennis team. Justin McGaffigan, a 14-year-old from Quincy, MA, plays at Sportsmen's Tennis and Enrichment Center. He has participated in the NJTL for two years and has shown great sportsmanship, ability and a positive attitude.
The Tennis Leadership Camp runs from July 16-22 in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN.
"We want to extend our congratulations to both Sehvrine and Justin for being selected to attend this prestigious camp," said Deirdre Tindall, USTA New England Director of Community Tennis. "We would also like to congratulate and thank Norwalk Grassroots Tennis and Sportsmen's Tennis and Enrichment Center for their dedication and efforts. We are excited to have these two talented, enthusiastic young players representing New England this year."
Since 1984, NJTL annually selects 36 children to experience a free, week-long camp that includes tennis development, health and nutrition, college preparation, guests speakers and cultural excursions.
