WAYLAND – The Longfellow Club’s Zip Zone tennis facility, in conjunction with the USTA New England and the Boston Lobsters of World hosted more than 20 kids for a free clinic on Sunday.

The clinic featured special guest instructor Jan-Michael Gambill, a Lobsters player who has recorded wins against Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras and Jim Courier, and represented the United States in Davis Cup competition.

The instructional portions of the clinic featured the QuickStart Tennis format.

"It was an honor to partner with both the Zip Zone and the Boston Lobsters to host this clinic," said Deirdre McCormack, USTA New England’s Director of Community Tennis. "There was no doubt that the kids were having fun, while learning the game, and having the chance to interact with Jan-Michael was certainly a thrill for them."

QuickStart Tennis is designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size.
